A cidade de Piracicaba historicamente apropria-se do percurso natural do Rio e o encarrega de ser o principal vetor de
formação de sua malha urbana. A cidade, que cresceu voltada para o Rio, o assume como protagonista e atribui
a ele o valor democrático de um espaço público. Ocupa suas margens para realizar encontros,
celebrações, eventos artísticos, folclóricos, gastronômicos e de lazer,
construindo uma identidade fortíssima relacionada ao rio.
O Parque do Mirante foi concebido na década de 1880 destinando-o a observação do rio, e ganhou força com a
reforma realizada em 1950 que permitiu o encontro através de percursos e mirantes. Diante disso, a
presente proposta visa respeitar e requalificar os mesmos critérios. Este projeto legitima o rio
como protagonista do espaço público, bem como os percursos relacionados a ele, revertendo
sua atual condição de abandono e depreciação, com o cuidado em articular o Parque com a
composição das outras áreas multifuncionais destinadas ao uso coletivo e previstas no
Plano Diretor local, formando o circuito integrado Beira Rio Central.
Historically, the city of Piracicaba owns its river's natural path and this is the main vector of urban network's formation.
The city, which grown around the river, takes it as a main character and grants it the democratic
value of a public space. Ocuppy its borders to make meetings, celebrations,
and artistic, folklorical, gastronomic and leisure events,
building a strong identity related to the river.
The Mirante Park was planned in 1880, intended to the river's observation and gained strength with the
renovation made in 1950 which allowed the people's meeting through paths and terraces. In front of this, the
present purpose tries to respect and improve the same requirements. This project validate the river
as the main character of public space, as well as the passages related to it, reversing its
current condition of abandonment and depreciation, maintaining the attention to articulate the park with
the other multifunctional areas allocated to the collective use and expected in
the local Main Plan, creating the integrated circuit Beira Rio Central.

O projeto toma como premissa o próprio percurso como objeto a ser preservado e prevê a requalificação destes caminhos,
afim de melhor conecta-los e torna-los mais atrativos. Os principais elementos que compõe a intervenção são: a implantação de
eixos no sentido transversal aos percursos existentes, tornando-os mais acessíveis e estabelecendo uma relação visual e
física com o rio, com o entorno e com o próprio Parque; a reestruturação de alguns dos espaços existentes,
propondo novos programas que desempenham o papel de incentivar o uso mais frequente do
Parque; e a inserção de módulos que se distribuem nos caminhos do Parque abrigando
pequenos programas de apoio por toda a sua extensão.
The project takes as a precondition the own path as an object to be preserved and anticipate the revaluation of those courses
in a way to better connect them and make them more attractive. The major elements that compound the intervention are: the implantation of
axes transversally to the preexistent paths, making them more accessible and creating a visual and physical relation with
both the river, the surroundings and the Park itself; the reorganization of some existent spaces proposing new
programs that can encourage the more frequent use of the park; and the insertion of
modules that are disposed of in the distribution on the park paths,
harboring support programs on all of its length.

_As transposições são implantadas em três eixos do Parque, onde cada uma delas é capaz de organizar, articular
e tornar acessível os diferentes níveis dos percursos existentes, através de uma plataforma anexada à um elevador,
considerando o posicionamento das escadarias já existentes. Ao se apropriar de uma técnica construtiva contemporânea,
é possível estabelecer uma relação interessante entre as intervenções realizadas ao longo do tempo no
Parque, permitindo a leitura do processo de transformação e consolidação do parque.
The transpositions are located in three axes of the Park, where each one of them are able to organize, articulate and
make acewssible the variety of level the existent path, through a platform annexed to an elevator,
considering the location of the preexisting stairs. By appropriating of aome contemporary constructive tecnique,
it's possible to set out an interesting relation between the performed interventions over time in
the Park, allowing the interpretation of the transformation and the park's consolidation.

O principal deles está no eixo central que, ao abrigar o maior fluxo vindo da Avenida Maurice Allain, permite o
acesso desde o nível da rua até a extremidade transversal do Parque caracterizando, assim uma nova entrada
para o parque. Priorizando a contemplação ao rio, esse caminho chega até o Mirante 3 sendo este a primeira
construção do Parque. A proposta afirma sua vocação de se aproximar do rio e propõe, na cota mais
baixa, uma área alagável que transmuta sua configuração conforme a alteração do nível da água. Ela cria também
uma relação direta com o mirante 04, que já possui caráter alagadiço.
The principal of it is on the central axis that, harboring the more intense flow from the Maurice Allain Avenue, enable the
access from the street level till the other edge of the Park, characterizing a new enter to the park.
Prioritizing the river's contemplation, this course arrives in the Esplanade 3, being this the first building of
the Park. The propose affirms its vocation to come close of the river and suggests, in the lowest level,
a floodable area that transforms its conformation through the variation of water's level. It creates also a
direct relation with the Esplanade 4, which already owns a flooding character.

O outro elemento de transposição localiza-se na extremidade do Parque que está próximo à Ponte do Mirante. O eixo
está posicionado ao lado da escadaria de pedras existente, reforçando o percurso entre a
marquise e o espelho d’água, ambos elementos que revelam, através da arquitetura,
o movimento modernista da década de 50 inserido no contexto
de desejo por mudança na cidade.
Este eixo se direciona ao edifício onde hoje funciona o Núcleo de Educação Ambiental, onde é proposta a demolição do
pavimento superior a fim de reverter a condição de barreira visual e de proximidade, que contradiz um dos principais
motivos de existência do parque, a proximidade com o rio, e não apresenta grande interesse de preservação integral.
Ao retirar esse pavimento que não, além da revelação do rio desde o nível da rua, instigando as pessoas
a se aproximar dele, cria-se um espaço mais amplo e democrático para o uso coletivo da população
Another bridge element is located on the Park's edge near to the Esplanade's Bridge. The axis
is placed next to the existent stone's stairway, reinforcing the course between the marquee
and the water's mirror, both elements that show, through architecture,
the 50' modernist movement inserted in the context of
a desire for change in the city.
This axis directs itself to the building where today is the Nucleo of Ambiental Education, in which is proposed the superior floor
demolition to try to revert
its condition of visual barrier and proximity, which contradicts one of the major reasons that the park exists,
the proximity to the river, and does not presents a great interest in integral preservation.
On removing this pavement, it is possible to reveal the river on street level, and to instigate people to approach it,
creating an ample and democratic space for the collective use of the population.

O projeto cria ainda uma relação entre o antigo edifício e o mirante 02, em ambos os pavimentos,
buscando uma unidade de piso através de um novo elemento de conexão entre eles,
a fim de possibilitar a compreensão da espacialidade original.
No pavimento inferior, a reforma do atual aquário e do pavimento inferior ao NEA abriga um novo
restaurante e um bar/café, com o intuito do melhor aproveitamento da vocação publica e de contemplação deste espaço,
visto que se situa acima do salto. O tipo de programa proposto, o restaurante e bar, além de remeter à memória
cultural do local, estimula a ocupação tanto diurna quanto noturna do Parque todo, o que
cria novas oportunidades de convivência e estimula atividades socioculturais e econômicas.
The project also creates a relationship between the preexistent building and the Esplanade 2, in both pavements,
trying to reach a floor unity through the utilization of a new connection element between them,
in order to allow the comprehension of the original spatiality.
In the lower floor, the renovation of both of the present aquarium and the NEA's lower floor harboring a new
restaurant and coffee shop/bar, intending to do a better use of the public and contemplation's vocation of this space,
since it is located over the . The type of proposed program, the bar/restaurant, besides of refer to the cultural memory of the place.
estimulate the occupation both of daytime and nighttime of the whole park, what can create
interaction opportunities and bring new sociocultural and economic activities.

O terceiro eixo de transposição está implantado na outra extremidade do Parque funcionando como elemento
articulador entre ele e o Engenho Central, amarrando e potencializando o circuito de
equipamentos que compõe o Beira-Rio Central e estrutura um sistema vivo de intercâmbio social.
O eixo liga a cota intermediária do percurso do Parque, passa por cima do véu da noiva criando uma
nova relação visual e sensorial, margeia as ruínas provenientes das antigas comportas de abastecimento de água,
onde se propõe a relocação e adaptação do Aquário Municipal, e destina-se ao Engenho Central, em frente ao novo Museu do Açúcar.
The third transposition axis is placed on the other extremity of the park, functioning as articulating element
between it and the Central Mill, to tie and enhance the circuit of equipments that compounds
the Beira-Rio Central and structures an living system of social exchange.
The axis connect the midle level of the park's path, goes over the bridal veil creating a new
visual and sensorial relation, lay on the ruins derived of the old water supply's gates,
where it is proposed the realocation and adaptation of the Municpal Aquarium, and is
aimed to the Central Mill, in front of the Sugar Museum.

E por fim, numa escala mais flexível, um equipamento recreativo, e um conjunto de módulos e mobiliários
urbanos distribuídos ao longo dos percursos com o objetivo de abrigar quaisquer necessidades de
apoio que o parque possa necessitar afim de gerar usos por toda a sua extensão. O elemento recreativo é destinado
principalmente às crianças e vence o desnível entre um patamar e outro cumprindo coma função de transposição de forma interativa.
Finnally, in some more flexible scale, a recreational equipment and a group of modules and urban furnitures
dispersed along the pathways with the purpose of harboring any kind of support needs that the park could
require, in order to generate types of uses through the park's whole extension. The recreational element is aimed, mainly,
to the chldren and overcomes the gap between one level and another fulfilling the function of transposition in an interactive way.

O uso dos módulos para a finalidade gastronômica, retratam a forte tradição que se tem em frequentar a Rua do Porto
principalmente pela gastronomia típica piracicabana. E o conjunto de mobiliário urbano, entre eles as coberturas,
bancos e pontos de iluminação, dão unidade visual e prática para o melhor funcionamento do Parque.
The use of the modules to gastronomic objective portray the strong tradition one has in attending the Porto Street,
essentially for the typical piracicaban cuisine. And the urban furniture group, among them the awnings,
benches and lighting points give a visual and practical unity to the better operation of the Park.
